About Me
-
👋 Hi, I’m Francesco Paolo Severino, I’m a Master’s student in Computer Engineering from Italy. I was born and raised in Sicily, but I am currently studying in Naples.
-
👀 When I’m not coding, I enjoy pursuing my other interests, such as cinema, music, videogames and Napoli, the football team I support.
-
🌱 At university, I worked in C, Assembly, Java, SQL, MATLAB, Python and VHDL. My exam projects include:
-
A TCP/IP-based smart home server/client written in C.
-
A suite of symmetric and asymmetric encryption algorithms written in various programming languages.
-
A smart greenhouse simulation written in MATLAB/Simulink, using the TrueTime simulator, which has been published on the Bulletin of the UNESCO chair “Distance education in engineering” of the SUAI.
-
-
💞️ However, my favourite programming language by far, and the one I have the most experience with, is Swift. I started out developing small apps for Apple platforms, but now I mainly contribute to the open source world of server-side Swift.
-
I maintain a library for creating passes and orders for the Apple Wallet app, including its extensions for Fluent, Vapor, and Hummingbird.
-
I contributed post-quantum cryptography algorithms within Swift Crypto as part of my Bachelor’s thesis.
-
I also rewrote the Vapor Toolbox from scratch and created the Vapor extension for VS Code.
-
I am currently working on the MQTT NIO (as part of the WebRTC course exam) and STOMP NIO messaging libraries, along with many other contributions to other libraries in the ecosystem.
-
I volunteered at the Swift Heroes conference in Turin and ServerSide.swift in London, and participated in Create with Swift Napoli Meetup as a speaker.
